Carol Delaney
To her customers, Carol is the pleasant voice on the other end of the phone. Always helpful, friendly and in good form.
But who is she? Well let’s see.
Carol has worked with File One for over 12 years, initially in the accounts department where it quickly became evident that she loved dealing with people and that her skills and ability lay in sales and not accounts.
When you look back over her working life it is easy to see why.
Carol is a Glanmire girl whose secondary schooling took her across the city to St. Mary’s Of The Isle where she loved taking part in all school activities and sports. Camogie being her favourite. Later she went on to play for Sarsfield’s Camogie Club and she’s still a “Sars” supporter to this day. Carol also played with the local Ladies Soccer team. Her fitness still shows when you see her running up and down the stairs in File One.
Carol’s working life has centered around retail sales and dealing with customers. Starting in Roches Stores in Cork’s Patrick Street and then on to retail Jewelery, first in Michelle’s Jewelers and then Bradley Jewelers in Winthrop Street where she rose to the position of assistant manager. Carol really enjoyed her time in sales and serving her customers and you can still see this today in the way she treats all her customers.
Marriage brought other responsibilities and Carol took eight years out to raise her children and look after her home. She found a balance between work and home life when joining File One in 1998.
When Carol moved to sales she headed up a tele-sales project to see if it would work for office supplies. Whether it was Carol’s personality or sales ability, we’ll let you decide, but within a short time her department became indispensable to the organisation within File One. She quickly built up a customer base (or added to her already wide circle of friends) whom she enjoys dealing with on a regular basis.
Carol believes in a relationship approach to her customers where she is there to support them and not just sell to them.
Carol still lives in Glanmire with her husband and 3 children, she loves gardening, reading and walking her dog.
